AI-assisted translation: faster, better, easier

The AI-assisted translation service is part of Gridly AI, which you can access from the side panel in your Grid. Depending on the cell you want to translate, make sure it’s part of a localization column so that the AI can detect the language into which you want to translate. AI-assisted translation is at present free for all users from all tiers. Your company in Gridly will be given free tokens to try Gridly AI (beta), which will enable you to translate with AI. Learn more here

The AI-assisted translation service is part of Gridly AI, which is powered by Open AI’s GPT 3.5 turbo large language model. It is trained and prompted to translate text considering surrounding texts within a Grid and provided context.

For translating with Gridy AI, no prompts are needed, as the prompting is managed by the service itself. However, you can use AI automation actions in Gridly to run your own prompts and can use any content within your Grids in those prompts. Learn more here

Translators don’t need to write translations themselves from scratch. They can proceed far faster by utilizing translation generated by AI, and achieve better accuracy by choosing from multiple variants and providing AI with contextual information.

You can use automation actions for executing AI prompts that will translate any content in your Grids and run them on multiple records, i.e. strings or keys. Learn more about how to run these automations here. AI translations provided by Gridly AI are adapted for string-by-string translations.

All AI translation services within Gridly are secured at the maximum level. The connection between Gridly and OpenAI is encrypted with the latest encryption protocols and both Gridly and Open AI adhere to strict security policies. Data transmitted to OpenAI is not stored permanently and is not used for training purposes by default.
